Unquestionably one of the year’s most anticipated releases, Nas’ Life Is Good has also quickly become one of the year’s – if not decade’s – most leaked albums. Having seen over half of its initial content snatched away by the Internet, and the full LP itself leaking earlier in the week (no, I’m not giving you a link), God’s Son’s bonus tracks are proved not to be safe either. Case in point: the bonus cut “Trust”, which sees Jones steer away from his veteran beatmakers, Salaam Remi and No I.D., and into the filtered and futuristic soundscape of Toronto-bred producer Boi-1da (Drake “Best I Ever Had”, Eminem “Not Afraid”, Lil Wayne “Bill Gates”). Life Is Good is slowly, but surely, shaping up to be Illmatic‘s closest rival. The album officially releases this Tuesday (July 17th).

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
