It’s hardly a surprise that Roc Marciano’s recent LP, Reloaded, has been welcomed to critical acclaim (9/10 from Spin, 8.1/10 from Pitchfork and a very respectable XL rating from XXL), but like many underground successes, the numbers often get lost in the commercial translation (Reloaded debuted at No. 44 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Albums sub-chart). To give his sophomore effort–and Decon debut–a little more of a promotional push, Roc Marci loiters around his stomping ground in the video for “Deeper,” all the while puffing a blunt and showing off a remarkably Frank Ocean-esque bandana. If your collection is conspicuously lacking Reloaded, keep it on the hush and right your wrongs over on the iTunes store.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
