VIDEOS OF 2012 2

The Internet has taken a lot of flack from the music industry. Whether it’s the decline in record sales, the lack of opportunities for monetization or simply the (rather irrational) fear of moving into the new era, the finger is usually pointing at the World Wide Web. But among the countless advantages our handy little browsers do offer, it has certainly boosted the popularity of music videos.

Like every year, 2012 lit up our laptop screens with some incredible cinematography–even for some of the previous year’s best records (No Church In The what now?) Some are visually breathtaking, some are emotionally moving and some are just downright ridiculous; here are our top 10 videos of 2012. Take it away Joey…

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
