Tyler, The Creator – “Domo 23″

We all know Tyler, The Creator doesn’t play by industry rules, but after remaining quiet for months (and not explaining his album’s delay from November), the fearless Odd Future frontman finally got his fans savvy to his eagerly anticipated third LP, Wolf, yesterday. The follow-up to 2011′s Goblin will hit stores April 2 (knowledge we acquired from a rather, um, unorthodox announcement video) and will feature the three equally-as-bizarre covers below.

Tyler was also generous enough to bless us with the first audio and visual sample of Wolf late last night. Competing with the comical absurdity of “Rella” and “NY (Ned Flander),” “Domo 23″ finds Tyler and Domo Genesis suit up in spandex to do battle in the ring as their extended OFWGKTA family cheer on. That is until a bigger body enters the ring and attempts kicks some ass (but is eventually fallen by a mighty slap). The track itself is raw and full of adrenaline; comparable to the aforementioned “Rella” in sonic terms as well.

Once the fight’s over, the clip transports to a much more mellow Tyler as he enjoys time with his chick. This is when we hear another sample of Wolf with “Bitter” — an off-kilter, drum-lead R&B collaboration with Frank Ocean, which sounds much more promising than its predecessor.

You can purchase “Domo 23″ and pre-order Wolf on iTunes now (don’t think you’ll be getting a look at the full tracklist, though!) In addition to all his album goodies, Tyler has also announced a coinciding International tour. Check out the dates below.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
