MTV’s Brain Trust continue to slowly unveil their Top 10 Hottest MCs in the Game list — and it’s shaping up to be as controversial as ever. Even with a top 10 single (“F**kin’ Problems”), a No. 1 album (LONG.LIVE.A$AP) and influence — both sonically and aesthetically — that can be felt within and outside of hip-hop, A$AP Rocky only makes his debut at a modest 8th place.

G.O.O.D. Music cover the next two seeds, but not how you’d imagine. Big Sean gets one up on his boss coming at 6, while Kanye West settles for 7. Yeezy made more headlines for his fashion choices (not forgetting his wifey choices) more than the music this year, so that’s pretty fair. Meanwhile Sean, even without a new studio album in stores, (apparently) stole the show on Cruel Summer‘s smash singles and cemented himself as 2Pac to the 12-17-year-old demographic with a collaboration with Justin Beiber.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
