Beast Coast’s The Underachievers are probably one of the strongest duos out right now. After dropping the well received Indiogism, rappers Issa Dash and AK seemingly blew up over night, increasing their influence almost exponentially over the past months. But how will their latest EP Lords of Flatbush fare? You’ve come to the right place.

Lords of Flatbush, the much anticipated EP from The Underacheivers is finally here. But how does it compare to their previous projects? Check out our breakdown after the jump…

Though the majority of the tracks feature the production skills of trap phenom Lex Luger, Flatbush still manages to keep the atmospheric “cloud rap” vibes that the duo are most notable for. All the tracks showcase the unique talents of the artists, but the two tracks that stand out in my mind are “Fake Fans” and “Melody of the Free”; the former aptly titled track has the duo calling out the bandwagon jumpers, while the latter emphasizes a very distinct sounding piano instrumental. Check it down below and follow to the link to download the project.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
