BoldyJames

Boldy James and Alchemist are busy in the kitchen, cooking up their latest dish, My 1st Chemistry Set, which will be out on October 15th for our listening pleasure. The album, which has some allusions to the very popular and cliffhanger heavy drama Breaking Bad, has the duo doing what they do best. What’s interesting to note about this track is it’s parallel with the Big L classic “Ebonics”; L & Boldy both break down some new slang words (think of it as RapGenius before it was RapGenius) and explain it to us in a smooth manner. Boldy’s rough vocal delivery and Alchemist’s tight production skills are exposed to those who may not be aware of the artists. Let’s hope that they don’t descend into a state of inebriated power like their heroes. Stream the track here and enjoy.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
