Reloaded

Roc Marciano may not strike you as a must-listen, but it’s hard to ignore that he comes with critical acclaim, especially in the New York area. From his days in the Flipmode Squad (alongside Busta Rhymes and company) to his current situation with Decon Records, he’s traveled a long road to even arrive to this point. With his latest album, Roc continues his street narrative and stream-of-conscious like delivery over smooth, laid back instrumentals with. MourningInAmerica

As far as substance-driven music, you’re going to hear a lot on the internet about the latest release from Lupe Fiasco, as his sequel to the original Food And Liquor has dropped for mass consumption, and although that album is solid in its own right, it’s still a shame that it’s release may possibly overshadow this gem from Brother Ali. Teaming with super-producer Jake One for the entire project, Mourning In America and Dreaming In Color is simultaneously an honest look at the issues within America (and ourselves), but Brother Ali somehow finds a way to present the project in an overall positive light. kanye west

Well, this song’s about to take over the internet tonight. The Cruel Summer single has leaked in it’s entirety and is sure to be making it’s rounds as you read this. If you haven’t heard the single yet, now’s the time to get familiar. I think it’s interesting how Jay-Z flipped into the Big Sean rapid-flow during his verse…. But let me be quiet and just post this audio. Check it below.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
