Big Pun, Lil Wayne, Slick Rick; all monikers that capture the sound, style or even stature of an MC. Bryant Dope is a name you can add to that list.

For Johnny Polygon, a guy whose just-got-out-of-bed look is nothing less than a trademark, keeping things organic is key.

In case you took residence under a rock throughout all of last year, you’ll know that Chicago’s a bit of a hotbed for rap music right now.

You have to have patience to be a hip-hop fan. Our favorite rappers have a skill for leaving us in almost tatters and tears before giving us that elusive album (hey Dre, hurry yo ass up).

They may call the sunny city of Phoenix home, but Full|REBEL|Jacket, the duo comprised of G (originally from Dallas, Texas) and Q (hailing from Anchorage, Alaska), evoke pure, unadulterated nostalgia of that Southern hip-hop of old.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
