Music/Def Jam.

wale

Wale‘s upcoming third LP, The Gifted, has been showered with some positive reviews, and judging by these early singles, it’s not hard to see why. On paper, a Wale-2 Chainz-Wiz Khalifa collaboration sounds like just another mainstream rap record, but over some crawling Travi$ Scott production, the trio craft one of the most enchanting weed anthems of late. The Gifted hits shelves June 25.

2 chainz

After debuting this during his set at Hot 97′s Summer Jam Sunday night, 2 Chainz lets loose the first single off his new album (out September 10), “Feds Watching,” featuring Pharrell. It may be a heavily diluted “fuck tha police” record, but Skateboard P’s production polish is worth the listen alone.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
