We recently heard Casey Veggies rap in Earl‘s track “Hives” alongside Vince Staples. For his 19th birthday, Veggies pulled a Lil’Kim and offered his fans a new smooth tune. Give it a listen and read more after the jump…

Veggies explains:

I did this song a few years ago when I was working on Sleeping in Class.. It’s my birthday so I decided to release it.. thanks for the love.. ima keep going.. rest in peace to Tupac.

A Harvard computer program attempted to quantify who is the best rapper of all time has been created. Rap lovers can often get carried away in never-ending debates and argument on hip-hop. Give it to Tahir Hemphill for coming up with a scientific program that measures mic skills – attempting to end the never-ending debates and arguments. Read more after the jump…

Bitch ends up appearing in almost a third of the songs. Hip-Hop is always villainized but people have to understand that Hip-Hop is a reflection of American culture, probably in one of its most distilled and pure forms.

We’ve heard Rick Ross’ “100 Black Coffins” contribution, now get a listen of arguably the most eye-catching item on the Django Unchained soundtrack. Thanks to engineer Claudio Cueni, late musical icons 2Pac and James Brown quasi-collaborate for a rich and funky gem called “Unchained (The Payback/Untouchable).” Said soundtrack album releases December 18, while Django Unchained, directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio, hits theatres Christmas Day.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
