We never thought Papoose would get a mention let alone be the biggest headline this past week. But thanks to perhaps the most bizarre sequence at Hot 97′s Summer Jam, wherein he crashed the stage to perform one song following Kendrick Lamar‘s devastating set, he’s all we’ve been talking about.

naledge

Here’s one of the standout cuts from Naledge’s (of Kidz In The Hall fame) new solo LP, Chicago Picasso: “Girls of the World.” The rich, piano-flourishing track also features two of the Windy City’s most polished young MCs, Alex Wiley and Vic Mensa (of Kids These Days, who just recently put out their Traphouse Rock album). Stream the cut below and purchase Chicago Picasso over on iTunes.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
