Alexander Spit’s A Breathtaking Trip to That Otherside LP is sounding better with every release. The latest from the Bay Area rapper’s upcoming project is a dark, drum-driven number he calls “The Othersiders,” which he raps on almost lackadaisically, giving it an infectious melody to it all. Featuring E-40, Action Bronson and Mr. MFN eXquire, A Breathtaking Trip to That Otherside drops January 19 via Decon.
You can download “The Othersiders” for free by pre-ordering A Breathtaking Trip….

West Coast native Alexander Spit has built his buzz nicely in the closing months of 2012. With several stellar singles (including ” Coastal/Hyperion” and “Getaway Car” featuring The Alchemist–both of which will appear on his A Breathtaking Trip To That Otherside LP, releasing January 29) in circulation, the new kid on the block blesses us with an aptly-titled freestyle before 2013 officially arrives. Remember the name, folks. This is dope.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
