The Treated Crew’s Hollywood Holt creates the perfect beat to instill Amy Winehouse’s gritty feel with an updated, futuristic twist, as Beyoncé & André 3000 trade verses from the late singer.

pink matter

Frank Ocean‘s channel ORANGE charmer, “Pink Matter,” just got sweeter–but even better, it marks the official on-wax reunion of one of hip-hop’s finest duos, OutKast. The rumoured remix has been realized, and it hears Big Boi jump in before his old rhyming partner, Andre 3000, to grace the humping groove with an equally-as-slick verse. This re-appropriated version was premiered on Elliott Wilson‘s Keep It Thoro radio show, but thankfully the tags of his screeching laugh have been safely removed (sorry, YN!)

For years, T.I. and Andre 3000 have exemplified the polar opposites of Atlanta’s formidable hip-hop spectrum, but the two veterans combine their contrasting sounds for one complimenting collaboration, “Sorry.” Another of the A’s long-time staples, Jazze Pha, crafts a brassy, bassy and flourishing instrumental platform, on which Tip and Three Stacks get deeply pensive–the latter perhaps more so: “And this the type of shit that’ll make you call your rap partner/ And say I’m sorry I’m awkward, my fault for fuckin’ up the tours.” Considering even his breaths are anticipated these days, Andre’s lengthy contribution doesn’t disappoint. Available now on iTunes, “Sorry” is the new single from T.I.’s Trouble Man: Heavy is the Head album, due out December 18.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
