As if Blu and DJ Babu‘s original “Comfy in the Truck” wasn’t ill enough, Bolts has added a chilled, funky touch to the track as part of Closed Sessions and Potholes In My Blog‘s Potholes In My Sessions Vol. 1 collaboration. Reworking vocals from Closed Sessions artists — Freddie Gibbs, Raekwon, Action Bronson and Curren$y — over production from Potholes’ roster — Equalibrum, Black Noi$e, BK Beats, Emay and Man Mantis — the five-track project definitely provides some interesting results. Download the full thing right here.

ScienZe and Blu; always a winning combination. The two link up on “Charlie Brown,” the latest sample of ScienZe’s Ella project (out in July).

Questions” has been one of my favorite records of the year, so a new Blu and Arima Ederra collaboration is always welcome over here. With producer Bombay behind the boards, the pair combine for another sunny jam, “Summertime.” Find this on Blu and Bombay’s upcoming joint project, Good To Be Home.

In a time when music videos are rushed out and previews, trailers and behind-the-scenes footage (and previews of trailers for behind-the-scenes footage) come by the dozen, it’s refreshing when someone like Blu just pops up with a video from a two-year-old project.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
