We first got hip to Houston native DeLorean through his sublime “Breathe” track (which we included in last Sunday’s Heroes & Super Villians round-up). It appears we aren’t the only ones with our ears on DeLorean as he returns today with the only co-sign that really matters for a Texas rapper: Bun B‘s. The pair collaborate for the groovy “Love Me Now,” the latest single off the young’un’s forthcoming project, Grace.

Beyonce‘s “Bow Down / I Been On” just got a whole lot tougher. After speculation circulated last week, Queen Bey does indeed deliver a H-Town all-star remix to her trunk-rattling new record, with help from just a few Lone Star State legends: Bun B, Z-Ro, Scarface, Willie D, Slim Thug and Lil Keke. Bow down, bitches.

Check The Sign” isn’t the only Bun B and Big K.R.I.T. collaboration we’re hearing this month; the Southern patnas have also rode shotgun for “Shine On,” the first drop from Krizzle’s forthcoming King Remembered In Time mixtape. Over a deep, cruising bassline, the two MCs wax hearty and heavily-twanged bars, tipping their hats to the sound of yesteryear while keeping a contemporary edge. It definitely offeres refreshment for the mass of expertly-marketed trash coming out of the South right now.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
