Stones Throw songstress Georgia Anne Muldrow lends a powerful track to Mello Music Group’s 7″ Series. Produced by Georgia herself, “Akosua” hears the West Coast songstress lead a funky, brassy beat with her multi-layered, multi-pitched vocals. There are just 300 copies of the vinyl available, so we suggest you click this link and claim yours quick.

This is a powerful album. Somehow Georgia Anne Muldrow takes us on an experimental journey back through various decades, all the while sounding fresh every step of the way. Start to finish, it comes as absolutely no surprise that Seeds was produced entirely by MadLib, one of the most prolific hip-hop producers of this century. Hit the jump to read the interview in it’s entirety.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
