Acting like October’s Cool Story, Pro wasn’t a healthy top-up for our cherished instrumental hip-hop collections, the Philly producer (who is no relation to Large Pro) is ready to release a new fully fledged project, Yokozuna, tomorrow (December 5). It’ll be largely made up of remixes of his own Gigantic Vol. 1 LP, which dropped all the way back in January, but it also contains this Guilty Simpson-assisted goodie, “The Easiest Way,” which is the sole all-original cut. Mean-ass hip-hop with a Breaking Bad reference; this is Christmas come early for nerds like us.

It’s been a little under a month since Apollo Brown and Guilty Simpson’s collab LP, Dice Game, dropped. And just in case the gritty, soulful and heavily nostalgic album isn’t already bullying its way to the top of your iTunes playcount, the Detroit duo let loose this beast of a Planet Asia-bolstered banger, “Nasty,” for free. We suggest you snap this one up right away, and cop the full collection over on iTunes while you’re at it.

When two of hip-hop’s most criminally underrated talents come together for a full-length collaboration, you know we’re in for a treat. That’s exactly the case with Dice Game, the forthcoming LP from MC Guilty Simpson and producer Apollo Brown, who today bless us with the first single, “Truth Be Told.” Clunking drums, soulful synths and gritty rhymes; this has Detroit hip-hop written all over it. Enjoy the new joint below and stay tuned for Dice Game dropping November 10 via Mello Music Group.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
