We never thought Papoose would get a mention let alone be the biggest headline this past week. But thanks to perhaps the most bizarre sequence at Hot 97′s Summer Jam, wherein he crashed the stage to perform one song following Kendrick Lamar‘s devastating set, he’s all we’ve been talking about.

IamSu! has this rap schedule thing down to a tee. Fresh off wrapping up his Million Dollar Afro tour with Problem, Bay Area’s next big thing teases his upcoming Kilt 2 mixtape with this eerie club banger, “Rep That Gang.”

emilio rojas

I gotta admit, I’ve never been compelled to sit down and listen to Emilio Rojas, but this lineup definitely grabbed my attention. For “Lean On Em,” the first single from his upcoming No Shame No Regrets project, the Rochester, New York MC calls on IamSu!, Styles P and Troy Ave to bolster a cold !llmind beat. My hat’s off, Señor Rojas.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
