Mathematics has been ridin’ with the Wu since their inception, and although the crew’s loyal deejay may not be credited as a core member, there’s no denying his affiliation with the crew, or his production skills. With several albums to his credit, Mathematics is gearing up for his latest release, The Answer, and in doing so, crafts this banger featuring his Wu brothers Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Method Man and Raekwon for “4 Horsemen.” Now press play and bang head repeatedly.

I got a crack spot, a G5 I’ve never flown/ I got a shark, a dog with a solid gold bone… – Ghostface Killah

Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa and Killa Sin all trade sharp, menacing rhymes on the Adrian Younge-produced, RZA-channeling “Murder Spree.” Wu-Tang Forever flashback, anyone? This is the latest sample of Starks and Younge’s Twelve Reasons to Die LP, out April 16. There’s a shit load of goodies that come with the album — too many to list, in fact — so head on over to Bandcamp to window shop.

CZARFACE is a shining example of how the richly talented just get more richly talented. In a genre that has seen more fads than hairstyles or hemlines, Inspectah Deck + 7L & Esoteric understand how to bring the timeless into the timely, effortlessly blending the old with the new. At every turn, CZARFACE demonstrate tremendous versatility, all the while illustrating why substance will always trump shine. To commemorate today’s release of their eagerly anticipated collaborative album, Czarface (aka Boston duo 7L & Esoteric and Wu-Tang MC Inspectah Deck) drop off track number six, “Savagely Attack.” The gritty boom bap cut, which is spiced by DOOM-esque cartoon samples, brings together 7L, Eso, Deck and his fellow Wu God Ghostface Killah in a punishing proverbial cypher. Grab your copy of Czarface here through Brick Records.

There’s videos, and then there’s videos. After unveiling the Action Bronson assisted “It’s Raw” single just last week, the supergroup amalgamation of Inspectah Deck and 7L & Esoteric, better known as Czarface, present the McFarland & Pecci directed visuals for “Air ’em Out.” In what plays out like a Tarantino movie, this spectacular half music video, half mini-movie is hands down the best video to drop so far in ’13. I know we’re barely into February, but this video is what dreams (or nightmares) are made of. Now hit the jump and press that play button and you’ll see what I’m talkin’ bout. CZARFACE drops on Feb 19th via Brick Records. In the meantime, head on over to GetOnDown.com to pre-order the Czarface Bundle, which the includes the CD, LP, along with T-Shirt and autographed print of the album art.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
