Next up with a Closed Sessions release is one of Chicago’s best-kept secrets: Julian Malone. The 2008ighties member links up with Exile for the charming “Pair of Dice.” Anyone else think Julian looks a lot like a certain Exile collaborator?

Promising Chicago MC Julian Malone has been nurturing his online buzz like a pro in 2012, dropping his Enemy: The Time And Loves Of Malone LP and releasing a slew of individual tracks, including “The Fellowship” with his 2008ighties crew, which have culminated in regular nods on blogs like 2DopeBoyz and Ruby Hornet. Today, the 19-year-old wunderkid returns with a new, fresh-out-the-oven lyrical offering, “7Milli.” If his upcoming Diff.Rnt project is anything like this, we’re in for a treat.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
