big sean

Yeezus season is in full effect right now, but you never know how fickle hip-hop can be; come August, it could all be about Hall of Fame. Looking to up the ante for his sophomore album (out August 27), Big Sean delivers a new single, “Blessed,” featuring Def Jam songstress Jhene Aiko and his “My Homies” cohort Lil Wayne. The message: don’t believe them heauxs.

no new friends

Is a repeat of 2011 on the cards? DJ Khaled rounds up his “I’m On One” troops, Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne (in the exact same order, funnily enough), for the potential smash of the summer, “No New Friends.” Boi-1da and Noah “40” Shebib on the production.

Mack Maine just debuted the official video for last year’s “Celebrate” collaboration with the recovering Lil Wayne and Talib Kweli. Can’t think of a better time for YMCMB to toast to life.

We gotta admit, we were expecting a Waka Flocka FlameLil Wayne collaboration to sound pretty stale in 2013, but this caught us off-guard. “Stay Hood,” the final leak off DuRant Flocka 2, recaptures both Waka and Weezy’s early ’10s dominance and relays it over a churning, crawling Lex Luger beat. We can’t wait to pick up the CDQ later today (when DuFlocka Rant 2 drops) to really fuck our speakers over with this beat.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
