A Harvard computer program attempted to quantify who is the best rapper of all time has been created. Rap lovers can often get carried away in never-ending debates and argument on hip-hop. Give it to Tahir Hemphill for coming up with a scientific program that measures mic skills – attempting to end the never-ending debates and arguments. Read more after the jump…

Bitch ends up appearing in almost a third of the songs. Hip-Hop is always villainized but people have to understand that Hip-Hop is a reflection of American culture, probably in one of its most distilled and pure forms.

The MMG marketing machine is in overdrive today. After debuting Rockie Fresh‘s solo contribution, “God Is Great,” to the newly announced Self Made Vol. 3 (out August 6), Rick Ross teams up with Wale and Lupe Fiasco (!) on the smooth, Jake One-produced “Poor Decisions.” Featuring Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa and more, Folarin’s The Gifted LP hits stores June 25.

lupe fiasco

No doubt it’ll be a while ’til Lupe begins previewing and promoting his new Tetsuo & Youth album (y’know, to give us all even more time to forget Food & Liquor 2), so expect plenty of loosies in the meantime. Here’s the latest: “Animal Pharm.” Inspired by George Orwell‘s Animal Farm novel, Lupe gets poignant as ever over some James Blake-esque digital textures.

Lupe Fiasco offers more condolences to Chicago’s tragically violent culture. On this heartfelt new track, “Jonylah Forever,” the hometown MC pays tribute to Jonylah Watkins, the six-month old baby who was killed when her father was targeted in a gun attack while changing her diaper in the passenger seat of his van. “She lives as long as we do. She will live forever. God bless your soul and the family you left behind. We Love You. Not a song but a life,” Lupe says of the song.

I won’t lie, when I saw “LupeFiascoStore.com” populating my Twitter feed last night, I figured it was just a merch sale that I wouldn’t give two shits about. Thankfully, the good graces of Google Reader set me straight and saved me from not missing this absolute gem of an addition to my iTunes. The Food & Liquor connoisseur hops on Common‘s super soulful “Communism” beat (crafted by the God No I.D.) and does it lyrical justice. The free download comes with the announcement that Lupe Fiasco is “rebuilding” his Twitter (presumably deleting all his existing tweets and starting afresh).

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
