This week, Kanye West sent the Twittersphere — hell, the whole world — into a state of mass speculation by tweeting the words, “June Eighteen.” We still have no idea what this points to, but here’s to hoping it’s the release date of that album of his.

Meanwhile, Oscar O’Malley, Prince SAMO, P-Money, Quelle Chris and G. Huff have got us covered for the best slept-on releases from the past seven days.

ghostface rza

Ghostface Killah, M.O.P. and Pharoahe Monch make for a lyrically lethal quartet on “Black Out,” the latest track to be heard from RZA’s The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack. The monumental anthem is actually produced by Fizzy Womack, aka Lil’ Fame of M.O.P., and maintains the trend of quality records to come from Bobby Digital’s upcoming film. Also featuring Kanye West, The Black Keys and Method Man, The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack drops October 23, while the martial arts film itself hits theatres a little later on November 2.

Gang Starr

Having released a nine-minute album sampler last month, Boston-bred emcee and founding member of Gang Starr Big Shug liberates the CDQ of perhaps the most appetising item on his I.M. 4-EVA tracklist with “Hardbody”, featuring two of New York’s toughest names in Fat Joe and the M.O.P. collective. With the mighty DJ Premier behind the boards, dusty piano loops, clunking drums and striking nostalgia seep through your speakers the moment you press play. Dropping July 24th, Shug’s I.M. 4-EVA will also feature contributions from Termanology, Reks and Lee Bannon.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
