the game (1)

The Game (oh yeah, he’s finally re-added the “The” to the beginning of his name) is on a tear right now. Not only is his star-studded (Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Common, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, J. Cole, Pusha T… this thing is seriously star-studded) fifth album, Jesus Piece, awaiting arrival next month, but the Compton MC has been keeping the streets honest with a series of free releases coming on the Sabbath as part of his #SundayService. Yesterday the congregation was blessed with three new tracks, and this particular Master P-assisted, DJ Premier-produced cut was a sure standout. Not only does The Game actually sound like The Game here, but Percy Miller delivers a hearty, soulful sermon to help bring the bouncy and soulful beat to a close. This sounds far from anything we’ve heard from Premo in the past, which just goes to show that the 46-year-old vet still has a few tricks up his sleeve. Repent of your weekly sins with “HVN4AGNGSTA” below.

MasterP

No Limit may have disbanded back in 2003, and his last album, Ghetto Bill, may have arrived over seven years ago, but Master P is plotting a comeback. The New Orleans O.G. is prepping the release of a new mixtape entitled Al Capone, and as an early sample, serves up “Friends With Benefits” featuring some of the South’s new blood, Kirko Bangz. Like the title suggests, the two charm their female listeners over the usual bass-pounding Third Coast rattle, courtesy of 1500 Or Nothin. Listen below.

Kendrick Lamar – “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe”

Kendrick Lamar finally gives his good kid, m.A.A.d city favorite, “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,” the video treatment. The all-white-themed visual captures the melancholy of the record to perfection, while a cameo from Mike Epps injects some extra humour. Watch on to catch Kendrick’s anti-molly message at the end, too.
