Every hero doesn’t look alike. They’re not always noticeably better looking, stronger, taller, or morally perfect. Sometimes they look like this. Not to take away from the looks or anything else from Red Pill, Apollo Brown, and Verbal Kent, but they’ll even tell you that they’re not your typical comic book heroes. They’d probably put themselves in the same category as the janitor who cleaned up the Daily Bugle late at night (Spider-Man). With that mindset, the Midwest group put together a 15 track project that tried to capture the thoughts and actions of the everyday, blue collar worker who make the world go round.. meet your local Ugly Heroes. Similar to how “Just The Music” is a love song for people who love songs, Hometown Foreigner is a Hip-Hop album for people who are Hip-Hop. Los Angeles rapper Trek Life put forth a well rounded 12 track album, entirely produced by Duke Westlake. And you should applaud the man because the beat variety is rich, albeit within a few parameters. It’s like Westlake took the color green and made you experience every shade of it from Hunter Green to Honeydew Green. Trek knew exactly what to do with all of those nuances and gave us a slice of each part of life in the Hip-Hop game. And you’ll learn along the way, sometimes you find yourself as a foreigner in once familiar lands. So go ahead and hit the jump and check out our review for Hometwon Foreigner – Spotify album stream included.

Quelle Chris is the newest addition to the Mello Music Group team. In celebration, he unleashes Q-Mixes (a/k/a Quelle Chris Luxury Remixes). A free album, full of dope tracks courtesy of the newly signed rapper/producer. His name is probably very familiar to you. The likelihood is that Quelle has produced for some of your favourite rappers including many, many Danny Brown joints such as “Re Up”, “Monopoly” and “EWNESW”. Many have no idea what a dope MC he is too. Mello Music are about to put an end to the ignorance. They put something fresh out every week without fail so expect to hear a lot more from Quelle. Check out the Quelle’s “Q-Sides” mix below featuring Young Zee, Pace Won and Eminem. Hit the jump for the entire project stream and download’.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
