Brooklyn MC/visionary MeLo-X treats us to some modest, but effective, visuals for one of our favorite cuts from his new GOD: LoFi EP, “Sweet Bitch.”

As we wind down and enjoy a rare breather this Easter Sunday, there’s plenty of big, big hip-hop announcements from the past week to reflect on. And, as always, check out out five favorite dope-but-slept-on releases, this time from MeLo-X, IamSu!, DeLorean, Uptown XO and DJ Finesse.

Pro Era stay in demand. Just a day after bolstering DyMe-A-DuZiN’s super dope “Swank Sinatra,” the crew’s more prominent voices, Joey Bada$$ and CJ Fly, are enlisted for fellow Brooklyn native MeLo-X’s new cut, “Live From East Flatbush.” The recording sounds like it came together on-the-fly (the title alludes to the idea also), so needless to say, you’ll have a tough time deciding the winner in this cypher; each MC brings the goods. Stream the track below and check for it on MeLo’s Inside The Mind Of MeLo 3 compilation, coming Monday (December 17).

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
