Mos Def, the MC we all used to know and love before he changed his name to Yasiin Bey and became a musical hermit, debuted an unreleased track during a show in Chicago last month. Well, the good folks over at Okayplayer have liberated said gem from the vault for all to enjoy. Entitled “The Light Is Not Afraid of the Dark,” it’s produced by Kanye West and was intended for Mos’ ’06 LP, True Magic. We can say with confidence that this is at least the 90 seconds worth of download time better than that strange track he made with Mannie Fresh.

It only makes sense that the first leak from Yasiin and Mannie’s album, OMFGOD, came to us on Easter.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
