Line-up of the year? Line-up of the year so far, that’s for sure. Hit-Boy continues to flex his industry muscles by grouping his own HS87 artists, Kent M$ney, Audio Push and B Mac The Queen, with a diverse and devastating cast of ScHoolboy Q, Casey Veggies, Xzibit, Rick Ross, Method Man, Redman & Raekwon on the aptly-titled “Cypher,” third release from his HS87 imprint’s All I’ve Ever Dreamed compilation (dropping March 12). The burning question here is who had the best verse? (And with Hit-Boy switching up the beat for a killer Rozay verse, that’s a fucking hard question).

It looks like our prayers are finally being answered. Here’s a sneak peek at a new Red & Meth track (let’s just soak that in for a second, shall we?) called “Lookn Fly Too,” which will also feature Gilla House’s Ready Roc. The clip begins with Reggie previewing the record in a hotel room, before explaining that they’ve got a video coming for it, too. Let’s hope this means Blackout 3 is happening! Watch the video after the jump…

Having made a few appearances–each time in full force–this year, it’s safe to say that Reggie’s well and truly back.

Hip-hop has been rife with bad news lately (a Kanye West sex tape, anyone?), so it’s about time us rap fans had something to cheer about. Allow Redman to be the cause of celebration. Yesterday, Reggie took to Twitter to confirm the long-running rumors by officially announcing Muddy Waters 2 – the follow-up to his widely acclaimed ’96 LP, Muddy Waters. The MC didn’t offer much more information other than the record is “in progress” and thats its release will coincide with his Redman 20th Year Anniversary Campaign, via Twitter, which you can peep after the jump.

After a quiet 2011 Redman has been quite busy as of late. Not sure if it has anything to do with the good feelings had by all at the Hit Squad reunion show but whatever it is, we’re just happy for new music. Guitar driven track provides the backdrop for some of Brick City’s best shit talking.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
