rockie fresh

For the first release from The Birthday Tape, a seemingly spontaneous new project which will drop later this week, Rockie Fresh recruits his MMG boss Rick Ross and one-half of TNGHT, Lunice, for the bizarrely-titled, but nonetheless monstrous, “Panera Bread.” Couple this with Electric Highway‘s “Superman OG” and we feel compelled to start a petition for a Rockie Fresh x Lunice mixtape. Mind you, whether our speakers would hold up is another question.

no new friends

Is a repeat of 2011 on the cards? DJ Khaled rounds up his “I’m On One” troops, Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne (in the exact same order, funnily enough), for the potential smash of the summer, “No New Friends.” Boi-1da and Noah “40” Shebib on the production.

John Legend and Rick Ross should make a full-length album. Why’s that, you ask? Well, aside from their current winners, “Magnificent” and “Maybach Curtains,” the G.O.O.D. Music and Maybach Music badge holders blend their respective styles to perfection over this melting, Jean Knight-sampling jam, “Who Do We Think We Are.” It’s the lead single from John’s Love In The Future album, out later this year.

No Justin Bieber cameo (please believe me), but Meek Mill and Rick Ross play out their drug kingpin dreams in the new video to “Believe It.”

If you’ve spent more than 10 drunk minutes in a club lately, you’ll know that Rihanna‘s “Pour It Up” is the jam. And the Mike WiLL Made It-produced anthem has just got even bigger today with Juicy J, T.I. and best friends Rick Ross and Young Jeezy all adding some muscle. Not only because we suspect he has the biggest tolerance to hard liquor, but we’re giving best guest verse prizes to the Juice man on this one.

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
