New Wu-Tang! After rocking the Summer Jam stage in full force on Sunday night (they would have taken the honors for best set hadn’t Papoose stole the show — literally), Shaolin’s Finest reunite once again on the aptly-titled “Family Reunion.” Masta Killa, Method Man and Ghostface Killah handle the mic duties on this celebratory anthem. The Wu’s 20th anniversary album, A Better Tomorrow, is due out sometime this year.

TGIF. But any day with some new Wu-Tang is a good one. On this never-before-heard gem unearthed by Soul Temple, “Execution In Autumn,” Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, RZA and U-God do what they do best over some funky Frank Dukes production. The track is currently available on a “pay what you feel” basis over on Bandcamp. That’s an offer you don’t turn down.

hot97 summer jam

Earlier today, Hot 97 revealed the eagerly anticipated lineup for the 2013 Summer Jam. Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Wu-Tang Clan (in full force!), A$AP Rocky, Wale, French Montana, Miguel, Chris Brown, Fabolous and Joe Budden have all been confirmed to play the Main Stage this year. I know what you’re thinking: no Drake, no Kanye, no Jay, no FUTURE VANDROSS? Let’s hope Hot 97 still have a few surprises stuffed up their sleeve.

The 2013 Summer Jam takes place Sunday, June 2 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Tickets are available here.

DeLaSoul

From one Hip-Hop great to another, De La Soul captures the spirit of the Wu-Tang Clan in their first single off their upcoming album, You’re Welcome.

I’ve always loved the ‘Intro’ on Disc Two of Wu-Tang Forever – this erie sample with no beat, that they only talked over,” De La Soul’s Posdnuos tells Rolling Stone. “I stumbled on the original sample while crate digging one day, took it straight to the lab and added drums. The feel is definitely gritty, hard and sounds like a Wu record, so out of inspirational respect, we included featuring ‘The Spirit of the Wu’ in the song title. – Posdnuos, De La Soul

Greg Grease – “Forward”

If you’ve managed to get this far during the week, you probably deserve a break. And what good timing to introduce Greg Grease‘s latest video for “Forward”, a stripped down, less-is-more banger that doesn’t need to be overdramatic to get it’s point across. Directed by Adam Dunn as a part of his #LABB (Lights and a Backdrop) series, the visuals are as minimalistic as it gets, allowing the Grease, his DJ and his turntable to play centre stage. Check it out and be sure to pick up Greg Grease’s Black King Cole EP if you don’t already own it.
